Aryam Investment 1, backed by UAE Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, secured a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial for $500 million just days before Donald Trump's presidential inauguration. The deal, signed by Eric TRUMP on January 16, 2025, included an immediate $250 million payment, with $187 million flowing to Trump family entities.

The transaction marks unprecedented foreign government involvement in a sitting US president's business interests. Two months post-inauguration, the UAE gained access to 500,000 advanced AI chips annually—a reversal of prior Biden administration restrictions.

Democratic senators have called for investigations into World Liberty Financial following allegations of token purchases by sanctioned foreign actors. The crypto venture's regulatory scrutiny contrasts with its high-profile backers and timing coinciding with major policy shifts.
